Return to Hunting

The Lighthouse Return to Hunting Program is for anyone with a disability who is interested in returning to hunting, who currently possess a hunters safety certificate and has previous hunting experience. Hunting can improve many aspects of life such as self esteem, strength, memory, mood, and hand eye coordination. 

​

There are several other benefits of hunting:

  • Improve visual processing speed

  • Improve attention to task and problem solving skills

  • Increase endurance

  • Improve gross and fine motor control

  • Improve range of motion 

  • Improves balance

  • Connection with friends and family 

  • Enjoyment of nature 

  • Nutrition

The program is led by a certified therapeutic recreation specialists who is also a certified hunter safety instructor through the DNR.

Laser Shot Simulator 

Education, Practice, Experience 

​

Shooting skills are important, but it’s imperative to learn and practice safety and responsibility in your hunting activities. Laser Shot’s Hunting Simulator was designed with input from Hunter Safety Professionals from around the world. Students will experience the thrills of sporting firearms while at the same time receive instruction in safety, proper ethics, and the responsibilities of gun ownership.

Hunter Education Tools

This system offers training from the basics of firearms handling to bow hunting to game cleaning and care, these tools will provide plenty of valuable lessons.
